Diversity is Lit is a book club created to support BIPOC authors and expand our bookshelves. Over in our Goodreads group, we vote in a poll and choose from 5 books by BIPOC authors in the middle of the month, then read the highest voted book the following month. At the end of the month, we have a fun and thoughtful discussion with friends in a livestream on my YouTube channel (writehollydavis).
In light of the Black Lives Matter movement, I felt compelled to find a way I could make lasting changes for Black communities by supporting Black authors. As a biracial writer, I was disappointed in the number of books by BIPOC authors I've read. To create permanent change, I created this book club so that I and others could enrich their reading lists.
